What We Do
In response to God's love, grace, and truth:
The Purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA
is to establish and advance
at colleges and universities
witnessing communities of students and faculty
who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord:
growing in love for God,
God's people of every ethnicity and culture,
and God's purposes in the world.
Local Vital Stats
Out of the 30 campuses and 250,000 students in South Florida, we are currently on 9 campuses throughout the South Florida Area. The area spans across 3 counties in southern Florida: Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. There are 10 small group witnessing communities seeking to reach every corner of every campus in South Florida. These small group communities are led by 15 student leaders and impact a total of 100 students.
with the good news of Jesus
We are committed to sharing the Good News of Jesus in relevant ways and inviting students to respond. In 2015-16 we reached out to 923 new students and invited 82 non-Christians to investigate Jesus, and saw 39 non-Christians regularly involved in small groups. We praise God that 14 students made decisions to follow Jesus and entered into transformative discipleship relationships.
in diverse committed communities
In InterVarsity, it is our firm belief that God calls to himself those from every tribe, tongue, and nation. It is our hope that, we continue to grow in our passion for and effectiveness in serving students & faculty of every ethnicity and culture. Our chapters reflect a diverse community, made up of 50% African-Americans, 18% Latinos, 27% white students & 5% other.
through biblical discipleship
We believe that students grow through intentional discipleship and training, both in individual formation and their ability to love and serve those around them. This year, 52 students were trained in leadership through Focus Week, 25% learned how to share their faith, and 8 students were equipped in an intensive week long spring break planting outreach on a local unreached campus.
out to serve God in the world
Not only do we want our students impact their campus, but also want them to change the world around them. Our hope is not just to equip students to reach their campus, but to develop world changers for the future by offereing domestic and international missions projects.
